Home Care Services in Phoenix AZ – Simple Beginnings
Sandra didn’t have the first clue about what home care could offer her father. In fact, she never paid attention to her friend from years earlier who had been dealing with all sorts of in home health care services for her own mother; she just listened to her venting about the frustrations she had with convincing her mother to hire some type of home care provider.
She honestly never thought it was going to be necessary to hire someone for her father. Sandra’s mother had died when she was younger, so it was only her father and her living not too far apart and he had always been a relatively strong individual. Now she was finally noticing the things he was dealing with, the struggles and frustrations, and saw him slowly becoming a shadow of his former self.
She didn’t know where to start in this journey. She tried to call her friend from all those years ago, but they had lost touch and she never heard back. Suddenly she felt as though she hadn’t really been the kind of friend that was needed at that time and she wept one night while feeling helpless and hopeless.
The Long, Lonely Road Ends the Moment You Pick Up the Phone
Many people end up following a similar path when they realize an elderly loved one is beginning to have difficulty with their own care and even their safety at home. However, where millions of people in the past were resigned to the fact they might have to move to an assisted living community or into a nursing home, more and more seniors prefer to remain at home, aging in place, and that can place increased pressure on family members like Sandra who may believe the only option is for them to take care of their elderly loved ones.
In truth, it only takes one phone call to a home care agency to step into the world of home care. That one phone call can provide an incredible amount of information for just about anyone who may have a loved one struggling with their health, safety, or other issues at home as a result of age.
Sandra only needed to pick up the phone and call an agency to learn more about the benefits of home care aides. When she finally did that, she felt better and her father ended up getting the support necessary to take part in activities he enjoyed.
